Introduction to the world of Tau'ir
A relatively small world spinning somewhere at the edge of the cosmos, Tau’ir is blessed with an astounding diversity of life. This is in part spurred by the god-like beings called Guardians that existed upon Tau’ir’s conception. Like artists presented with a blank canvas, they alone shaped the world itself and all that came to live upon it.
It wasn’t until the humans arrived that the guardians took on more of a backstage approach.

Geography
Tau’ir has three continents.
Karoqunia, the largest by far, was where humans were originally placed on Tau’ir by a mysterious race of otherworlders called Althosians. Their intent was to allow the humans to multiply, like a herd, before returning hundreds of years later for the slaughter. In that time, the first humans were quick to cultivate the rich land of Karoqunia, building a vast and sprawling civilisation that covered much of the continent. As land and resources began to grow sparse, mankind turned its attention to the lands across the sea and it wasn’t long before these were colonized as well.
Karoqunia is the southernmost continent. The coast of Ronanida, its closest neighbor, is several thousand miles to the northwest, with Austarina, the smallest continent, further to the north. These lands are all relatively close together, with not much sea between them, leaving the other half of the world a vast ocean dotted intermittently with uninhabited islands birthed by lonely underwater volcanoes. This singular giant ocean beyond the shallow territories belonging to the continents is referred to as the Desert Ocean.
Ronanida, the second largest continent, is a very mountainous region, allowing a large variety of biodomes to exist in close proximity to one another. The species of Ronanida are particularly adaptable.
Austarina, though the smallest, seems to be a focal point for magical energies. This has led to the belief that the Guardians originated on Austarina before spreading, but this has not been confirmed.
